Komen Race for the Cure.Some of the participants ran and some even danced their way through to the finish line, but each person was in it for the same reason -- to bring awareness to breast cancer.Many weren't just racing to the finish line; they hoped that their donation would go toward finding the cure.Special events coordinator Mollie Russell said that every week, one person dies of breast cancer in Central Georgia.

Thousands came together this morning to help end the battle of breast cancer, by racing for the cure.For the 25th consecutive year, thousands wore pink and walked the 3.5 mile course in support of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.Lisa Hoff Davis, the races executive director says, "At last count, I believe we were sitting at 2,700, which is incredible because we have three levels of our fundraising.We have pre event sponsorship, we have event fees, and then we have personal fundraising that we have for our participants."
