Food standards regulator defends actions in E.coli outbreak gourmet cheese ban (From Herald Scotland)SCOTLAND's food safety watchdog has defended its actions in the E.coli outbreak linked to a gourmet cheese.Food Standards Scotland in declaring the crisis, which claimed the life of a child, over said it was following standard procedure in its actions which led to a recall of two batches of Dunsyre Blue cheese and a temporary ban on the sale of the product pending investigation.Humphrey Errington, owner of the firm Errington Cheese which produces Dunsyre said the E.coli said last week how FSS had insufficient proof that his cheese was responsible for July's outbreak of E.coli.
