Unfortunately, LSU announced that its live mascot — Mike the Tiger VI — will not be on the field at 2016 home games due to his ongoing cancer treatment.Instead, the tiger will remain in his habitat.Mike underwent stereotactic radiotherapy on June 1 at the Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center for spindle cell sarcoma, the school said in a press release."It appears that the tumor in Mike's face responded to the radiation treatment and has shrunk in size," the school said in the statement.
