According to the North Dakota Department of Health, one in three children in the United States is overweight or obese.According to the North Dakota Department of Health, "one in three children in the United States is overweight or obese." The Centers for Disease Control reports, using numbers from 2013, that in North Dakota, 28.6 percent of adolescents are either overweight or obese, while children in the state aged 2-4 and are part of the WIC program were at 30.4 percent overweight or obese.A joint project sponsored by Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, known as State of Obesity, which "raise(s) awareness about the seriousness of the obesity epidemic," reports that obesity among North Dakota high school students has gone up significantly since 2011.
