The Pennsylvania departments of State and Health is urging patients of a Bern Township dental practice to get tested for infectious diseases after regulators discovered that the practice did not follow proper procedures for preventing infections.State officials recommended that patients who have received dental services from the Center for Family and Specialty Dentistry, 2642 Bernville Road, since October 19, 2015 get tested for hepatitis B and C and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)."While we haven't received reports of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV from patients, infection control procedures at this practice were inadequate and created the potential for harm, so we're recommending patients get tested," Health Secretary Dr. Karen Murphy said in a press release."We prefer that patients receive information regarding their health directly from their provider.

GETTY Dementia: Alzheimer's disease risk could be reduced with regular saunasExperts have found middle aged men in Finland who take a sauna more than four times a week are two thirds less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease or dementia, over a 20 year period.Researchers at the University of Eastern Finland followed 2,315 men aged 42 to 60 years for 20 years as part of the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease Study.Men who reported taking a sauna four to seven times per week were 66 per cent less likely to receive a diagnosis of dementia than those who only sauna once a week.They were also 65 per cent less likely to receive a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, the survey revealed.
