Almost 30 Longo’s meat products now recalled for E. coli risk stat : Food Safety News

Recalled products include ground beef, veal and pork; hamburger patties; meat balls; meat loaf; and stuffed peppers. More than two dozen beef and veal products are now included in a recall of Longo's brand ground meat in Canada because of possible E. coli contamination. There is concern consumers may have the recalled products in their homes because best-by dates run through this week. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased," the CFIA recall notice states. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings," according to the expanded recall notice.

Longo's Brothers Fruit Markets Inc. is recalling certain Longo's brand ground meat products from the marketplace due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. Food contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. Certain Longo's brand ground meat products recalled due to E. coli O157:H7
A variety of ground meat products are being recalled in Ontario due to E. coli fears, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The CFIA says the recall was triggered by an earlier recall of fresh veal by Newmarket Meat Packers Limited. The agency says the products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased. Food that is contaminated by E. coli may not look spoiled, but can make a person sick.
