Brad Grey Dies At Age 59 From Cancer, former Paramount Pictures chair quoting : Deadline

Grey also was responsible for the worldwide business operations for Paramount Pictures International, Paramount Famous Productions, Paramount Home Media Distribution, Paramount Animation, Studio Group and Worldwide Television Distribution. The DreamWorks deal imploded in personality clashes, and Spielberg and Snider were granted a divorce. In a shocking development, it saddens me to report that Brad Grey has died at age 59. Grey surprised many back in 2005 when he accepted Sumner Redstone's offer to take the reins of Paramount Pictures as chairman/CEO. His death, from cancer, comes months after his exit as chairman/CEO of Paramount Pictures, a job he held for 12 years.

Brad Grey Dies At Age 59 From Cancer, former Paramount Pictures chair
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Brad Grey, an influential Hollywood leader who served as the chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures for 12 years, has died. Current Paramount Pictures CEO Jim Gianopulos also released a statement Monday. Grey is survived by his wife, Cassandra Grey, their son, Jules, three children from a previous marriage, Sam, Max and Emily, his mother Barbara Schumsky, his brother, Michael Grey, and his sister Robin Grey. "All of us at Paramount are deeply saddened by the news of Brad Grey's passing," Gianopulos said. Director Ava DuVernay, who worked with Grey on "Selma," wrote on Twitter that she had dinner with him prior to the film's release.

Brad Grey Dead: Former Paramount Executive Was 59

During his time at Paramount, Grey also clashed with Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, and Jeffrey Katzenberg. Brad Grey, the former Paramount Pictures chairman and CEO, died on Sunday night of cancer. Grey produced Shandling's Showtime hit "It's Garry Shandling's Show" and HBO's beloved "The Larry Sanders Show," helping to elevate the comic's profile. He claimed that Grey had inappropriately enriched himself by taking fees on "The Larry Sanders Show" from Shandling and from HBO. Grey, a shrewd operator who alternately stroked and clashed with Hollywood's key power brokers, had a tumultuous tenure at Paramount.
