'Rocky' director John G. Avildsen dies at 81

Oscar-winning director John G. Avildsen, whose "Rocky" sent a shot of adrenaline through movie theaters and turned Sylvester Stallone into one of cinema's most unforgettable boxers, has died at 81. Steven Zeitchik, Justin Chang and Kenneth Turan are bringing us Cannes moments from the 70 years of the international film festival -- in 17-second increments (or thereabouts).
