Million Dollar Beach in Lake George closed again for bacteria concerns according to : NewYork upstate

State officials again shut down Million Dollar Beach on Tuesday because of high levels of E.coli bacteria, according to The Post-Star. Last year, the beach was closed down at the end of August after tests showed high levels of fecal coliform. The popular Lake George beach had just opened for summer swimming Sunday. The state mandated the closure Monday following lakewater quality tests that showed levels of E. coli bacteria higher than state standards. The beach will remain closed to swimming through Friday June 23.

LAKE GEORGE , NY (WRGB)--DEC crews are still trying to figure out what's causing the water at Million Dollar Beach to have high levels of E. coli contamination. The Village of Lake George has committed all available staff and resources and is working closely with DEC to resolve the problem and protect our beautiful lake." The beach will remain closed through at least Friday, June 23rd. "Warren County joins with the city and town and DEC to investigate the source of this contamination. We're told investigators are checking for man-made sources to the contamination , such as a leak or illegal dumping.
