Dave Schwartz (Photo: The Weather Channel)ATLANTA - Longtime Weather Channel meteorologist Dave Schwartz has died after a long fight with cancer.In an announcement of his death, The Weather Channel says on its website that Schwartz died Saturday after being first diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer 10 years ago.It says he twice beat cancer, but it resurfaced last year.Schwartz had been an on-air meteorologist for the network for more than 20 years.

Longtime Weather Channel meteorologist Dave Schwartz has died.In February, on World Cancer Day, an emotional Schwartz went on the air and talked about his diagnosis."I want to let you know the reason why I have lost 35 pounds in the last 5 months is that I am being treated for cancer… Stomach cancer, of all things, for a foodie," Schwartz said.Schwartz first joined Weather in 1985.
