Sandy Hook beach reopened after bacteria levels in water dropSANDY HOOK — Gunnison Beach has reopened for swimming after being closed for a day because of high bacteria levels in the water.The park announced the reopening of the clothing-optional beach Wednesday morning on its Facebook page shortly after 10 a.m.Park officials allowed visitors on that beach on Tuesday but prohibited them from going into the water because of the bacteria levels.The water was retested Tuesday but results were not available until Wednesday morning.
