× Expand Thom Randall The Lake George Beach was shuttered due to coliform concerns Friday, Aug. 19.LAKE GEORGE — Million Dollar Beach, the destination of choice for thousands of vacationers and area residents per week, is temporarily off-limits due to lakewater pollution.Mid-afternoon Friday, state Department of Environmental Conservation officials cleared the beach of sunbathers and swimmers due to coliform counts that were higher than allowable limits in tests conducted earlier this week.

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has closed Lake George (aka Million Dollar) Beach due to high coliform levels.The DEC says it is also closing all waters in the area known as Dog Beach which lies between West Brook and the Lake George Beach facility.The DEC plans to continue testing the water.
