Lake Lashaway beach in East Brookfield closed because of bacteriaEAST BROOKFIELD - The town beach on Lake Lashaway has been closed because of a high bacteria count found in testing this week.Sue Gordon, a clerk for the East Brookfield Board of Health, said regular testing at the beach found the high coliform bacteria count.Because the bacteria could cause health problems if ingested, the beach was closed to swimming.
