E.coli outbreak case cheesemaker drops watchdog legal action (From HeraldScotland)A cheesemaker whose products were removed from sale following an E.coli outbreak has dropped a legal action against Scotland's food watchdog.Errington Cheese said its plans to seek a judicial review will not now go ahead after it received concessions from Food Standards Scotland (FSS).It vowed it will, however, continue the broader fight to have its products put back on the shelves.

How Scots produce banned in UK over E.coli outbreak was in frame for World Cheese Awards honours (From HeraldScotland)SCOTS cheeses banned in Britain after being linked to a fatal E.coli outbreak have been withdrawn from the World Cheese Awards after being in the running for this week's garlands.Errington Cheese's Dunsyre Blue, Lanark Blue, and Corra Linn were all identified as among those that were to be judged on Wednesday in what is the largest cheese competition on the planet.Food Standards Scotland (FSS) imposed a blanket ban on the sale of all of Errington's products two months ago after finding strains of the E.coli bacteria in batches of Dunsyre Blue and Lanark BlueThe Errington cheese was linked to an E.coli outbreak in July in which a three-year-old girl from Dunbartonshire died.
