He spent 13 seasons as manager of the Minnesota Twins, making 6 postseason appearances and winning the AL Manager of the Year Award in 2010. "I'm going to fight it and deal with it," Gardenhire said. He will have surgery to remove his prostate at a date yet to be determined and will take a leave of absence from the team at that time.
