(Photo: KHOU)HOUSTON - A teen bravely battling a rare form of cancer had one of her dreams come true: she met Beyoncé. "Mostly, we tagged Beyoncé we wanted to get her attention that Ebony wanted to meet her." On the video posted to social media, you can hear the singer telling her fan, "I love you." So some of her classmates at Alief Hastings High School used the power of social media to get Queen B's attention. "We just decided she should, you know, meet Beyoncé," said Alief Hastings senior Shanya McKnight.
They've really, really helped me. After dedicating more than a decade of his life to the people of Galveston County, Sergeant Royce McQuaig is fighting terminal cancer.Last September, McQuaig visited UTMB for what he thought was pneumonia. "I've got a very good support group. "During the time I was having the fluid drained and testing done, they found a two-inch cubed cancerous mass on my aorta and also spots on my lungs," McQuaig said.McQuaig was diagnosed with terminal cancer. From my family and friends to the sheriff's office, it's been an amazing support group," he said.McQuaig is still on the job, completing light duty work.
