There are no illnesses linked to this product in Canada, but an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak in the U.S. linked to these products has sickened at least 16 people. I.M. Healthy SoyNut Butter recalled over E. coli infections
The company is now recalling all of its butter products along with its granola products. I.M Healthy Soy Nut Butter was removed from shelves across the country after an outbreak of Shiga Toxin producing E. coli was found to contaminate the product. Fourteen of the 16 cases are children, and five of the reported cases are said to be experiencing Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, a type of kidney failure.
