That cost is expected to increase 34.6 percent to $592 million over the next eight years, according to the report. During that same time, deaths from heart disease fell 14 percent and HIV/AIDS deaths plunged 54 percent. In Oklahoma, the estimated Medicaid costs for adults 65 and older suffering some form of dementia is estimated at $440 million this year.
