Billboard : reported that Olivia Newton-John Postpones U.S. & Canada Tour Dates Due to Breast Cancer Battle

After initially postponing her Midwest tour dates at the beginning of the month, Olivia Newton-John has announced she is delaying all her U.S. and Canadian tour dates because of the return of her Cancer. "I decided on my direction of therapies after consultation with my doctors and natural therapists and the medical team at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia," says Olivia Newton-John. The singer and Grease star was originally diagnosed with breast cancer back in 1992 and has become an advocate for raising money and awareness for the disease. Newton-John originally thought her health issues were due to sciatica, but it turned out to be breast cancer that had spread to her lower back.

Olivia Newton-John announced Tuesday that she is "reluctantly" postponing next month's concert tour dates in Canada and the United States. In 2008, she built the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia. The Grease star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992—the same weekend her father died of cancer. In a statement shared via her social media, she said the back pain that initially caused her to postpone the first half of her tour has turned out to be breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum. Newton-John "is confident she will be back later in the year, better than ever, to celebrate her shows."

Olivia Newton-John announced her breast Cancer diagnosis Tuesday in a Facebook post. "I decided on my direction of therapies after consultation with my doctors and natural therapists and the medical team at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia," Newton-John said in her post. Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. Newton-John's cancer has spread to the sacrum, a bone in the lower back, which is likely why she originally mistook the pain for sciatica. The Australian actress will undergo photon radiation therapy to treat the cancer, which is now metastasized, according to her post.
