The study examined the results of millions of tests for Lyme disease done on canines nationwide during their annual visits to the veterinarian. Chester County has the highest number of dogs in the greater Philadelphia region that have tested positive for Lyme disease, according to a new study published in the journal Plos One. While dogs show no age-specific epidemiological risk profile, children 5-9 years of age are at highest risk of Lyme disease, followed by adults aged 45-59 years, according to the study.
