E. coli outbreak in Tatura's water supply
Routine tests by GV Water of the Tatura water supply discovered two instances of Escherichia coli, or E. coli bacteria. Staff at Goulburn Valley Water worked throughout the night to flush possibly contaminated water from Tatura after an outbreak of E. coli in the town's water supply. Updates will be posted on the GV Water site and anyone needing more information should phone the customer service centre on 1800454500. Water for the town, which comes from the Goulburn-Murray system, was flushed last night by GV Water staff to try to get rid of any contaminated water. The source of the bacteria was not yet known, according to GV Water Technical Services general manager Steve McKenzie.
