Centers for Disease Control and Prevention investigating multistate outbreak of Ecoli O157 |H7 contagions

Thirteen states have announced statuses of Shiga toxin-producing Ecoli O157 |H7 contagions (STEC O157 |H7). The multistate outbreak is being investigated with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, & state health officials. Health officials in Canada are too investigating an outbreak of STEC O157 |H7 contagions in various counties. Preliminary results of whole genome sequencing indicate which the type of Ecoli making people sick in the 2 countries is closely linked genetically. Canada's Public Health Agency has identified romaine lettuce as the source of the outbreak there.

A similar outbreak in Canada was traced to romaine lettuce however the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tells it's continue investigating & could't pinpoint the type of lettuce related to the U.S. outbreak, only yet.
