Singaporean wins America$ten,000 grant from National Geographic to research dog illness in Nepal
SINGAPORE - Freelance photojournalist Debby Ng has won a America$ten,000 (S$13,300) grant from The National Geographic community to keep wildlife in Nepal, with studying dogs there. Ms Ng, 35, told The Straits Times which the National Geographic community Early Career Grant going to let her to study canine distemper virus in the Himalayas. In 1994 canine distemper virus killed 30 per cent of the lions in Serengeti National Park," said Ms Ng. Separately, she going to still the Himalayan Mutt Project, her anti-hydrophobia work which neuters & vaccinates dogs in Nepal.
