(WIAT) — Concerns of water safety prompted one environmental group to sue an East Alabama water works board.The Coose Riverkeepers have notified the Oxford Water Works and Sewer Board of their intent to file a lawsuit over pollution in the Choccolocco Creek, a major tributary of the Coosa River, which flows into Logan-Martin Lake.

Aug 3, 2016 11:18 AMNH1.comMANCHESTER - It's a hot day, but one city lake should not be the scene to beat the heat.Health officials closed Crystal Lake on Tuesday after finding increased levels of E. coli bacteria were found in a routine test the previous day, reports the Union Leader.The beach will be reopened after the bacteria drops back to acceptable levels, but that won't be until at least Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
