AUSTIN — A revised edition of a booklet presented to women considering an abortion in Texas highlights refuted research that links receiving an abortion to a heightened risk of breast cancer.State law requires that the booklet, titled "Women's Right to Know," be distributed to women considering an abortion, at least 24 hours before a scheduled procedure.This edition marks the first time the pamphlet has been revised since its initial publication in 2003.The Texas Department of State Health Services collected public feedback on a draft of the revision for several months before settling on the final edition published last week.
