SoLo GI energy bars recalled for E. coli according to : The Chronicle Herald

The Solo GI energy bar brand have been recalled nationwide because of possible E. coli contamination. "In severe cases of illness, some people may have seizures or strokes, need blood transfusions and kidney dialysis or live with permanent kidney damage."In the most severe cases, people may die. They said the recall was triggered by a recall in another country, and no illnesses have been reported yet. In a news release, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said company New Era Nutrition Inc. was recalling the bars. "Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea," it said.

A nationwide recall for SoLo GI brand energy bars is in place because of possible E. coli contamination, says the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Anyone who thinks they may become sick from consuming the energy bars should contact a doctor. In a news release issued Saturday, the agency said New Era Nutrition Inc., the company that produces the energy bars recalled the product sold nationally in stores and on the internet. "Food contaminated with E. coli ... may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick," the agency wrote.
