The supermarket says Listeria monocytogenes was discovered in a number of sandwich fillers, and has taken steps to remove potentially affected products from the store. Listeria can cause flu-like symptoms, including a high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, vomiting and diarrhoea. It is recalling 13 varieties, sold under the by Sainsbury's and Be Good To Yourself brands. Over 65s, pregnant women, unborn babies and children under one-year-old are most vulnerable to the bacteria, as is anyone with a weak immune system.
