"Top Gun" alum Val Kilmer recently confirmed that he is still recovering from his oral cancer. But the fan cited Michael Douglas' shocking revelation months ago when he said that Kilmer was battling the same type of cancer that he fought against before. He also gushed over Tom Cruise, who served as his big screen rival in the movie, "Top Gun." "He was a sweetheart. But despite Cruise's busy schedule, the actor was able to work well with his co-stars, and he and Kilmer developed a special bond on- and off-screen. Because I don't sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather," he replied.

Val Kilmer Opened Up About His Cancer Battle in AMA on Reddit

The actor got some unwanted attention in late 2016 when his "Ghost and the Darkness" co-star Michael Douglas told reporters in London that he was battling cancer. While Kilmer admitted he'd had a lump in his throat, he didn't clarify whether or not it was cancerous. "I love Michael Douglas but he is misinformed," he wrote. Kilmer shared that he'd had "a healing of cancer" and suggested that Douglas was "probably trying to help" when he discussed the matter. During an AMA on Reddit on Wednesday, he answered a user's question about "the story behind" Douglas's claim.
